This is not my latest dress. I did it 2 years ago. But I love it because it's very simple. Simple dresses need always special fabrics - nice pattern, good quality...
It was very fast process - I did it one morning, before the wedding which I was invited for. I finished it just before ceremony, put it on quickly and went partying.
I haven't worn it in quite a long time. I took it out from the closet and realized that I made progress with my sewing skills. That's good news of course. On the other hand it's a pity to see imperfections in a dress I like so much.

Recycling rules!
First there was a textile. Then came a dress.
Every time I visit my mother I go through her closet with fabrics and old clothes. There is almost always something new - she dosen't have time to sew at all but accidentally finds some boring clothes made of cool fabrics (dog cheap as well). I found there one day a long rose skirt. At first glance it was only ok.  The second time it was interesting. And for the third time it was superb! My mother generously gave the fabric to me. I had some undefined vision of what I want. Later on I found a nice simple dress in Burda issue. I had in mind that it was really not too big piece of the fabric so I wondered whether would be enough for a dress. Well, nothing left after cutting all pieces. Front part is made of two pieces (instead of one), as I missed few centimeters. But the pattern is quite dense and dark so it's not even visible. To make pockets I had to use some black cotton after I run out of the rose fabric. The strings on a back are made of black cotton band.
I like the dress but I have one regret: the back neckline could be smaller. I planned to check it out before cutting but forgot.. Otherwise it's nice in its simplicity.

I bought this stripy cotton few years ago in Finland. I didn't know what to do with it but I liked it a lot. Dark blue-red stripes look really cool but this is also such kind of pattern which from distance makes your eyes tired. Anyway the textile was used finally.
I made a dress with kimono sleeves (found in Burda). The sleeves were a little bit tricky but everything is a matter of practice. I decided to sew inseam pockets instead of patch pockets - I found it really easy technique thanks to Burda step by step manual.
The dress is very comfortable and unexpectedly works out perfectly on a hot summer day!

The story goes that my mother-in-law got a jacket from her daughter. The jacket was too small for her so I was the next one to be a donee. I told her honestly that the jacket was totally not my thing but I could take it and remade. A deal was done.
After maybe half a year I felt like making my first bag. So that was the time to use the unwanted jacket made of slippery green fake snakeskin leather. I didn't have any metal parts, handles etc. That sort of forced me to make a bag of 'one-piece'. It didn't make the sewing easy but after all I made it.
So voilà: the snake-bag with green lining and small pocket inside, zipper closed.
